M.Foils Fuselage System
Front wings are detailed with their family of section designs, these are Lift, Glide and Race.
This will give you a good indication of the foil characteristics and which will be most suitable for you. All foils have been carefully designed and built to have great tip breaching capabilities and good control.
Lift
These foils are designed to resist stall long after more traditional sections lose lift, whilst still maintaining low drag throughout most of the foiling speed range.
Utilising a thin section profile with a relatively full leading edge and subtle concave trailing edge gives a foil with unprecedented range that will get you up on foil earlier and pump with ease, yet still have excellent glide and an impressive top end.
Intermediates and progressive beginners will find the combination of low stall speed and low drag glide reassuring in learning new manoeuvres and transitions whilst advanced foilers will be able to enjoy even more dynamic performance by downsizing foil or wing. This comes with a slightly reduced top end performance.
They can be a true one foil quiver but also a great session saver to have for the real world where the perfect conditions don’t always show up.
Glide
These foils are designed for ultimate efficiency throughout most of the foiling speed range.
Compared to the Lift foils they sacrifice some bottom end and pump, and compared to the Race they sacrifice some top end, but for everything else they excel.
They have a moderately thin section with subtle concave trailing edge that exhibits very low drag and good all round balance - from down speed gliding all the way to high speed foiling.
For unprecedented angles upwind on wing or para-wing, and the ultimate glides back down wind, as well as high speed sends and boosts, look to these.
Slight more technical to ride so advised for intermediate riders, slightly reduced low end but with exceptional glide and up wind/down wind VMG possible with these foils.
Race
These foils are designed to for outright speed.
Their sections show exceptionally low drag and good balance at the upper end of the performance window whilst maintaining sufficient low end to get going early.
They exhibit decent low to medium speed performance, but when pushed hard they will accelerate and keep going faster after other foils have maxed out. If racing, speed, or full power in the harness sailing is your thing, these will be your answer.
