Anodised metal bellcrank for use with the Aerocet it can also be used in the Exocet but with a slight modification this is a replacement for the plastic version which is no longer in production.
The plastic bell crank was sanded at the aft edges to allow full range of movement of the bell crank where the foil narrowed at the back of the section. This is not possible with the aluminium version, instead the foil will need to be sanded.
The process is:
- Attach sandpaper to a flat batten / lollypop stick / ruler etc. (best done with double sided tape but similar results can be achieved by wrapping the sandpaper around the batten and taping top and bottom).
- Gradually sand each side of the inside aft edges of the foil.
- Continually test fit the new bell crank to check for range of movement. When full range of movement is achieved, clean the area, and fit the new bell crank with a small amount of Tef-Gel applied to the pivot point and of all the screwed in fittings.
